This site is dedicated to the God who created the Rainbow; and all the wonderful colours in the earth that surround us every day. Our lives become a tapestry of love and colour as we live for Him.

The name and logo of Rainbow Threads was inspired by the Lord in 2001. It has been used as a business and ministry name since that time by Lynda Georgeson. To find out a little more about my background and experience in colour use, please go to the About Me tab.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1

And the bow (rainbow) shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
Genesis 9:16

The Bible is full of the language of colour for those who have eyes to see. My book 'Experiencing God through Colour' has over 70 different sets of colours taken directly from scripture. Just as it is possible to 'speak' through the medium of music, it is also possible to 'speak' through the language of colour. In the original Hebrew language the dictionary meaning for the word 'hallel' reveals that it speaks of both sound and colour.  In the world of advertising and home décor to cite just two examples, colour is used in profound ways to speak to people. This is because both music (sound) and colour emit frequencies and sound waves into the atmosphere. It is therefore possible to use colour, as in the home décor example, to create moods and ambience. While in advertising, certain colour combinations become very quickly associated with brand logos. In the Bible there are many obvious examples of colour being used to speak a message, as with the Rainbow. To Noah, God said that He would never again flood the whole earth, and the Rainbow has become a symbol to believers that God keeps His promises. Another example found in the book of Exodus is the Old Testament Tabernacle. The colours given for this 'tent of meeting' all speak prophetically about Jesus.

The whole subject of colour is one that excites and inspires me every day, and even though I have been on a journey of learning about the Biblical aspect of colour language for many years, I still feel that I have only scratched the surface of all that there is to understand. My book offers my insights thus far, and also contains testimonies from friends from many nations who have had an experience of God speaking to them through colour. It also contains a section dedicated to the Biblical use of banners and flags. Each silk piece or set of ribbons that I create can become a prophetic message as each one is given an accompanying scripture verse. Most of the time it is not possible to go through our day to day lives speaking out the Word of God. However, once we come to understand that colour is a language, then even a simple scarf can become a visual representation of scripture that can be carried with us into the workplace and our everyday lives.

God on His throne in Heaven  is pictured as being surrounded by a Rainbow in Revelation 4:3. The Lord's prayer includes the words 'thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.' My prayer for those of you reading this is that you will be inspired and encouraged to surround yourself with colour as God does, and that the blessings of God's Rainbow of promises will be yours.
